iPhone Exit DFU Mode

14 October 2009 8 Comments

You can back out of DFU mode as long as you haven’t started loading a new firmware image.

The steps for you to do so are:

  1. with the phone plugged into your computer, hold down both the power and home buttons for 10 seconds or longer—until the screen changes.
  2. on windows, you may hear a beep or get a uSB device notification as your iphone comes out of DFu mode.
  3. your phone should boot as normal. if it’s still off after 10 seconds, you should be able to turn it on by pressing the power button briefly.
