You may want to turn off “Determining Gapless Playback Information” in iTunes, it is slowing down your system whenever you are adding songs.
Apple does not provide an option to turn this off in iTunes. Try the method suggested in the 2nd page of this post: iTunes – Determining Gapless Playback Information.
You may also have to turn on the Crossfade option for the above workaround to have an impact: Apple Support:What is Gapless Playback?

If you lost apps by syncing iPhone to iTunes on a new computer, don’t panic. You could get them back.
You’ll need to authorize the new computer to your iTunes account. Then you can re-download any applications you purchased.

To change your carrier logo, the directories you’ll need to know are /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ and Themes/themename/Bundles/. The first one is the directory where all the bundles containing pictures and other data for the different available carriers are located. The second directory is where you must put the directory corresponding to the carrier you’d like to change. For example, /Bundles/com.apple.ATT_US/ is where aT&T modifications go.
